John "Jack" Cassidy, age 89, of Alma, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
He was born June 19, 1923 in Detroit the son of Harry and Genevieve (Saboruin) Cassidy. He graduated from the University of Detroit with a BSEE Degree and lived the Jesuit Motto "A man for others." Jack married Catherine E. Higgins on August 23, 1947 in Chicago. He served during W.W.II in the Army Air Corps in Guam.
He is survived by his children, Bill (Jane) Cassidy of Findlay, OH, Mary Ellen (Charlie) Cassidy-Goffnett of Alma, Jim (Karen Buskirk) Cassidy of Palmer, AK; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Cox, James (Rita) Cassidy, Elizabeth Cassidy, John Cassidy, Kathryn Goffnett, Jesse Cassidy and Carly Cassidy; and one great granddaughter, Callie Cox; and sister-in-law, Janet Cassidy of Monroe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at St. Michael Catholic Church in Monroe. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cabrini High School Dad's Club, 15305 Wick Rd., Allen Park, MI 48101 or Hartland Hospice.
