L. Marletha Raske, age 66, of St. Louis, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Sparrow Specialty Hospital in Lansing. She was born on January 25, 1947 in Alma the daughter of Reuben and Dorlane (Deline) Raske.
She was a 1965 graduate of St. Louis High School and earned her teaching degree in 1969 from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois. Marletha taught math at the Ithaca High School for 25 years, before her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the Alma Church of the Nazarene and had a great love of animals, running a dog and cat rescue and placement at her home.
Marletha is survived by her sister, Leila (Gordon) Harrier of Lansing; a brother, Fred (Shari) Raske of Carmel, Indiana; five nieces and nephews, Jonathan (Sharon) Harrier of Fishers, Indiana, Bethanie (Tony) Thompson of Rockford, Marci (Nic) Allen of Overland Park, Kansas, John (Angela) Raske of Wheaton, Illinois and Anne (Todd) Ziegler of Carmel, Indiana and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Alma Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jim Adams officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lux Funeral Home in St. Louis and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
