Dale Henry Roethlisberger, age 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services for Dale will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Cheryl Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Animal Treatment Services Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Dale was born on December 8, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Henry Allen and Beulah Margaret (Manausa) Roethlisberger. Dale was a 1944 MPHS graduate. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Following his military service, Dale owned and operated Roethlisberger Real Estate carrying on the business that his father Henry Roethlisberger started in the 1940's. He was a member of the Isabella County Board of Realtors and he was also a market value appraiser. Dale was a member of the Isabella County Sportsman's Club and the Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed fishing, especially on Eight Point Lake, deer hunting on Drummond Island, and hunting moose and bear in Canada. Dale also enjoyed bowling on leagues and was a lifelong golfer. He wrote at one time, a hunting and fishing column for the "Daily Times News." Dale was a sportsman, outdoorsman, and an avid sports fan, especially CMU athletics and the Tigers. He spent many hours in the stands at baseball, football, basketball, and soccer games watching his nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews play sports.
Dale is survived by his sister, Trudy (Jack) Karr of Mt. Pleasant; nephews, Luke (Allison) Karr of Mt. Pleasant, Mike (Jessica) Karr of Petoskey, Mark (Paula) Klozik of Shelby Township, and Jim (Kimberly) Klozik of Rochester, MI; nieces, Sherry (Mike) Pulverente of Mt. Pleasant, and Pam Klozik of Huntington Woods, MI; great nephews and nieces, Lakyn and Morgan Karr, Bella Karr, Jacob, Makia, and Lauren Robinson, Peter, Brian, and Scott Klozik, and Robbie and Austin Klozik; and special dog, Jack.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Jean (Marty) Klozik.
The family would like to thank Dr. Simmons and the Isabella County Medical Care Facility for their loving care of Dale during this past year.
