Stanley was born in Clare, Michigan, the son of Simon and Catherine Sheredy. Stanley proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Air Force and the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Jeraldine Lowther on August 17, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Stanley owned and operated the City Service Gas Station in Mt. Pleasant. He also work for the United States Post Office, and retired from Michigan Consolidated Gas Company. He was a member of the VFW Post 3033 and a parishioner of both Sacred Heart and St. Henry's Catholic Churches. Stanley usually started everyday with a cup of coffee at Meijers, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. One of his favorite things to do was to "wheel and deal" on just about everything, but especially cars. He is quoted by all stating "A cleaner car runs better!" He enjoyed traveling across the United States, spending time in Florida, and going camping in Higgins Lake and Traverse City. He was known for having the cleanest campground in the park. He was constantly looking for garage sales to attend, buying merchandise to resell at his annual garage sale. He was gardener, bowler, and continual learner, watching historical shows about the United States Military. Stanley continued his love for the military by stopping in at VFW posts throughout the United States on his travels. His nephew Ken had even brought him back to the military base in California, at which he had been previously stationed many years ago.

Stanley is survived by his children, Sherry (John) Bick of Mt. Pleasant and Steven (Veronica) Sheredy of Virginia; 2 grandchildren, Thomas Sheredy and Tony Bick; siblings, Ann Fettig of Saginaw, Jacob (Betty) Sheredy of Bay City, Fran Bolle of Clare, Kate (Dick) Paxton of Coleman; and several nieces and nephews as well as many friends, especially Marion, his close friend and companion.

Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Jeraldine in 1989; parents; siblings, Maggie Kudlack, Mary Wolk, Helen Kobus, Sophie McDonald, Joe, Albert, John, Sam, and Tom Sheredy.
