CPL Benjamin Keith Rauschenberger, age 25, of Elwood, passed away of injuries from a car accident on April 15, 2013, in Alpine, CA. Benjamin was born on February 7, 1988, to Brian and Jamie (Brookens) Rauschenberger in Indianapolis. Benjamin had worked in law enforcement in Hobe Sound Florida before joining the U. S. Marines. While in the Marines he was stationed at Bridgeport, CA. Benjamin is survived by his: parents: Brian and Jamie Rauschenberger-Elwood, sister: Jessica Rauschenberger Barthelmy-Elwood, brother-in-law: Jonathan Barthelemy-Elwood, sister: Brooke Rauschenberger of Elwood, niece: Jaliyah Barthelemy, paternal grandparents: Bernard and Nolene Rauschenberger-Elwood, maternal grandparents: Russell and Carol Brookens-Shepherd, MI, aunt and uncle: Lisa and Rob Price-Elwood, cousins: Lacy, Cody, Leeza, Kyle and Leann, aunt and uncle: Amy and Nathan Bryant- elta, CO, cousins: Amanda and Caleb Reed, 2nd cousins Chase and Aria, Nolan and Shelly Bryant, Nathaniel Bryant, Nicholas Bryant, uncle and aunt; David and Melinda Rauschenberger-Sheridan, IN, cousins: Audrey, Tyler, Grace, uncle and aunt: Rick and Paige Brookens-Ft. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Friday, April 26, 2011, at the Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor John Parker of the Village Park Bible Methodist Church in Westfield assisted by Pastor Mark Potter, will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion IN with the U.S. Marine Corp. Honor Guard conducting full military honors. Everyone is invited to the National Guard Armory located at 521 E. 5th St. in Marion following the services.
