Vincent W. Moeggenberg, age 94, of Alma, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Maplewood of Mt. Pleasant with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Shepherd. Interment will be in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. There will be a Scripture Service on Sunday at 7 p.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
Vincent was born June 14, 1919 in Shepherd to August and Gertrude (VorderLandwehr) Moeggenberg. He married Hester Moore October 11, 1947 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Shepherd. She preceded him in death in 2007.
Vincent was a retired dairy farmer having farmed south of Shepherd for many years. He received 5 Bronze Stars while serving in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Vincent was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
Vincent is survived by 7 children, Nancy (Dave) Brown of Grand Ledge, Chuck Moeggenberg of Orlando, FL, Ann (Vic) Collins of Breckenridge, Tom (Ruth) Moeggenberg of Mt. Pleasant, Ruth (Mike) McClish of Kalamazoo, Margaret Mitchell of Shepherd, Janet (Ken) Zorn of Zeeland; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; 8 brothers and sisters, Florence (Bill) Frayer of Canadian Lakes, Rose Moeggenberg of Lansing, Cletus Moeggenberg of Mesa, AZ, Fr. Raymond Moeggenberg of Bay City, John (Marge) Moeggenberg of FL, Jim (Sue) Moeggenberg of Midland, George (Sue) Moeggenberg of Fort Meyer, FL, David (Jean) Moeggenberg of Midland.
Preceded in death by his wife, Hester; and 3 infant children, Richard, Raymond, and Glenn; along with 3 sisters, Pauline Wilberding, Mary Wilberding, and Marcella Schaeffer; and brother, Paul Moeggenberg.
Memorials may be given to St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd.
