Trinity Moreno Obituary

Moreno, Trinity Aleman On March 31, 2017, the angels welcomed Mrs. Trinity Aleman Moreno to her eternal rest. Mrs. Moreno was the daughter of the late Martin and Perfecta Aleman and was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 1, 1917. In 1923, the family migrated to Michigan to work in the fields in Gratiot and Isabella counties, settling in the Mt. Pleasant area. In the mid-1930's, Trinity worked for the Council of Home Missions, a program of the United Methodist Church that provided child care and health services to migrant families. While in that work in 1937, Trinity met and married Rev. Albert Moreno, who was a Methodist minister serving the migrant populations of central Michigan. Rev. Moreno preceded Trinity in death in June of 1968. All nine of their children survive to rejoice in the memories of their loving family: Christina (Bernard) Manker, of Crawfordsville, Ind.; Albert Moreno Jr. of Honor, Mi.; Sarah Peña, of Saginaw, Mi.; Irene Seahawk, of East Lansing, Mi.; Rachael Moreno, of Laingsburg, Mi.; Esther Kulhavi, of Fort Myers,Fla.; Diana (Richard) Smith, of Clare, Mi.; Ruben A. Moreno of Weidman, Mi.; and Naomi (James) Stark of Mt. Pleasant, Mi. Trinity Moreno is also survived by 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three younger brothers: Marion (June) Aleman of Warsaw, Ind.; Tony (Judy) Aleman of Lansing, Mi.; and Joe Aleman of Norfolk, Va.; also, five younger sisters, Mary Rodriguez of Ludington, Mi.; Amy de la Cruz, of Pierceton, Ind.; Frances Gonzalez of Clinton Township, Mi.; Julia (Erasmo) Quintanilla of Durand, Mi.; and Sarah (Terry) Wildfong of Grand Rapids, Mi. Trinity was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Albert Moreno; daughter-in-law Betty Moreno, sons-in-law, Lupe Peña and Richard Seahawk; and sister, Martha Barrera. In the 1970's Mrs. Moreno began work in the Special Education Program for the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools, until her retirement. For many years, Mrs. Moreno taught the kindergarten classes in Sunday school at the Nazarene Church of Mt. Pleasant. Trinity's patient and loving ways with all children marked her life's work and is her greatest legacy. Trinity Moreno was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt to many who will miss her smiles and hugs. Funeral Services for Trinity will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeremy Selvidge officiating. A luncheon will follow the Service at the church. Interment will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the time of Service on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church. Naomi, so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I just shared with someone this week about you bringing a dish to a food day your Mother made. It was the best Mexican dish I've ever had. I never met her, but I remember how you spoke of your Mother and I know you will cherish her in your heart forever.
Blessings to all during this difficult time. You can be comforted knowing she is now with her Lord.
