Garnett "Carl" Weismiller

Weismiller, Garnett "Carl" Age 72, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Dr. Keith Wise officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Carl was born in Alma, MI on August 23, 1945, the son of Carl Noble Weismiller and Viola Mae (Welch) Hale. He attended Ithaca Public Schools. Carl married Alice Marie Cochran on June 3, 1967, in Ithaca. After 46 years of marriage, Alice passed away on June 17, 2013. Carl enjoyed fishing, and camping. He attended many antique tractor shows with his doodle bug. He loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. He retired from the Gratiot County Road Commission after many years of service. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Sp 5 during the Vietnam War. He is survived by daughter Tina Weismiller of Caro, MI, son Gary Weismiller & Stephanie Mackeller of Ithaca, MI, grandchildren; Corrine Weismiller of Ithaca, MI, and Kira Weismiller, of Ithaca, MI. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, and sister Dyane Weismiller. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #225 or the Ithaca VFW.
