Edward Leon Dabbs Jr., 61, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 20, 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Gwen Dabbs Parker (Chris) and grandson Logan Christopher Parker. He is also survived by his mother, Stella Murutes Dabbs and his sister, Adrienne Dabbs Owen (Greg). Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Leon Dabbs and his brother, Dennis Theodore Dabbs. Edward graduated from Abramson High School in 1970 and attended the University of New Orleans. He enlisted in the Nuclear Power Program of the United States Navy where he served from 1972 to 1975. He worked as a biomedical technician at Charity and University Hospitals for many years and most recently was employed with Auto Zone. He had a passion for math, astronomy, as well as music, and he played electric guitar from a very young age. Edward will be deeply missed by family and friends. A private memorial service will be held this Saturday, March 29, 2014.
