Edwards, Matthew Dennis  
Matthew Dennis Edwards, age 28, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Matthew is preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne Boisfontaine Edwards, and survived by his father, Ralph D. Edwards, his siblings Sara Elizabeth Edwards and Jeffrey Richard Edwards. An avid gamer, movie buff, and true foodie at heart, Matthew was an employee of Bistro 42 at Ochsner Medical Center. He previously attended Riverdale High School in Jefferson Parish. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visitation at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans. Fassy Jr., Warren Edgar  
Warren Edgar Fassy, Jr., age 85, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Beloved husband of Carmen Fassy for 46 years. Father of Aimee Fassy Harding (husband, Dr. Patrick Harding). Stepfather of Leo Avila (wife, Barbie Avila), Mirna Avila and Maritza Gillian (husband, Kevin Gilliam). Grandfather of Matthew and Luke Harding. Brother of the late Frank Fassy and Peggy Fassy. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Mr. Fassy retired from Southern Pacific Railroad and was a U.S. Marine veteran. He enjoyed cooking and gardening and loved trains. Joyce Daray Ferger went home to once again be with her mother and daughter on April 22, 2015 at the age of 77. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Harold G. Ferger, Jr., grandson Aaron Paladino (Wendy), great grandchildren Kacey and Ryan Paladino, Jenna Leigh and Jordan Klibert, devoted cousin of Marlene and Sonny Rauch, Gigi and Rose Boes, her "SISTA's" Angie Blasczyk, Audrey Fernandez, Barbara Terrell and late Mildred Hand. She was preceded in death by her mother Alice Bravender, husband Harold G. Ferger, Sr., daughter Karen Ann Ferger and daughters-in-law Brenda O. Ferger and Maureen B. Ferger. Ferry Jr., David Stickney  
David Stickney Ferry, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Miriam Duplantier Schultz Ferry for 33 years and the late Jeanne Boudreaux Ferry, father of David Stickney Ferry, III, DDS (wife Maria), stepfather of, Stuart Grant Schultz, Jr., M.D. (wife Christine), Richard K. Schultz (wife Bridget), Susan A. Genovese (husband Richard), Dennis G. Schultz (wife Melanie), and Kevin P. Schultz (wife Kim). Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and his sister Camille Keyes. David was preceded in death by his parents, Camille Bourg Ferry and David Stickney Ferry, Sr. and a sister, Beverly Bourg and a brother, J. B. Ferry. Mr. Ferry was a great father to his son David and a wonderful role model for his step children and grandchildren. He had a very happy marriage to Jeanne Boudreaux for 32 years and a loving wife Mickey for 33 more years when he inherited five more children and many more grandchildren. He was a loving grandfather. He was blessed in his last years with loving care from his family and a special thanks to Melanie for her love and care. David was a very successful business man. He started his career with Great Western Railroad selling freight then ventured off into his own business which provided various types of water for many different industries. He sold his business in the 90's to retire and travel the world with his loving wife. David, also known as Pop was an incredibly generous and loving gentleman. He always had a way of putting smiles on people's faces. Whether it was a song he learned in WWII or one of his many jokes. He was a fantastic dancer and always the life of the party. Most important, David was a very religious and devout Catholic with a special devotion to Mary, the Blessed Mother. We are all very lucky to have been blessed with his presence here on earth and look forward to the day we all meet again. God Bless you David and we all miss you very much. Fischer, Elizabeth  
Elizabeth Fischer, a life-long resident of New Orleans, died on Monday, April 20, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Born Elizabeth Lee Nicholson on September 1, 1927, she was the daughter of Yorke Poitevent Nicholson and Amie Dove Boyd. Elizabeth attended Isidore Newman School and Sophie Newcomb College where she was in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Elizabeth was an Art major at Newcomb where she had the privilege of studying under Will Henry Stevens. She made her debut into society during the 1947/1948 season. She was a maid in several courts and reigned as Queen of Carnival in 1948. Elizabeth married Ashton J. Fischer on June 25, 1949. He was her one true love and they were together until his death in 1987. Elizabeth was a devoted and loving wife and mother but still found time to be active both socially and civically. Ashton and Elizabeth enjoyed New Orleans society and made a very handsome couple about town. She was President of The Junior League of New Orleans for the 1967/1968 term. She served as President of The Christian Woman's Exchange, now named the Hermann-Grima House. Elizabeth was also on the boards of Ochsner Foundation Hospital, Louise S. McGehee School, WYES-TV, St. Anna's Home and Trinity Episcopal School. Elizabeth was passionately interested in the history of New Orleans and its future. She was proud of her family's strong ties to the city, which included the ownership of The Picayune Newspaper and the innovative work her grandmother Eliza Jane Poitevent Nicholson did as publisher of The Picayune. Elizabeth was a member of The Colonial Dames of American and was a former Queen of The Mystic Club. She was a lifelong lover of books, particularly mysteries, and an avid world traveler. She felt a strong connection to the Mississippi River and loved watching the ships go past her window. Elizabeth loved to laugh and had a keen sense of humor, which she maintained until the end of her life. Elizabeth was pre-deceased by her three siblings: Amie Boyd Nicholson; Yorke P. Nicholson, Jr. and Eleanor Nicholson Corbin, as well as her son Ashton J. Fischer, Jr. Survivors include daughters Amie Fischer Paul (Graham) of Asheville, NC and E. Nicholson "Nicki" Fischer Faust (LeDoux) of this city. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren David and Eliza Paul of Asheville and Carey and Emily Faust of this city. There will be a small family service at Trinity Chapel followed by a private interment at Metairie Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering at St. Anna's at Lambeth House on Monday, April 27 at 3:00 PM. Eloise P. Fisher, 93, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Slidell. Beloved Wife of the late William B. Fisher; Mother of Ermilee Figueroa and William H. Fisher (Karen); Daughter of the late Otto and Florence Puderer; Sister of Florence Saucier, Mary Gough, and the late Harold Puderer, and Clifford Puderer; Also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A native and longtime resident of New Orleans. She retired as a nurse, from Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 8290, a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, and a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lacombe. Flucke III, Christian "Albert"  
Christian "Albert" Flucke III, age 74 years, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was welcomed home by the love of his life, his wife Bonnie Ricaud Flucke, who preceded him in death in 2009. Son of the late Christian Albert Flucke Jr. and Urilda Collier Flucke. Brother of the late Hilda Louise Flucke. Survived by his children Craig Flucke (Pam), Kyle Flucke (Dina), and Kristy Flucke Cherry (Thomas), and by his grandchildren Christian, Nicholas, Graham, Lindsey, and Emma Flucke and Peyton Cherry. Born in New Orleans where he lived for most of his life, Mr. Flucke graduated from John McDonogh High School and attended the University of Houston. He spent his career as the owner and operator of Asher Cleaners and Laundry and Al's Cleaners until he retired in Slidell following Hurricane Katrina. He was also a lifelong part-time resident of Shell Beach where he spent many of his happiest days relaxing with family and friends, and depleting the speckled trout, redfish, and duck populations.
