Alvin Joseph Doucette Jr.

Alvin Joseph Doucette Jr. was born on October 18, 1932, and departed this world to be with our heavenly Father on July 13, 2014. Alvin was the son of the late Alvin J. Doucette Sr. and Ophelia Brown Doucette. He was the beloved husband of his adoring wife, Theresa Glapion Doucette, for sixty-two years. During his lifetime he served his country faithfully in the Korean War and acted as the benevolent and steadfast patriarch to the Doucette family. Alvin leaves behind three children: Alvin III (Ginger), Debra Boykin (Ernest) and Kevin Sr. (Silvia). Alvin was the eldest of seven brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his brothers Roland, Glenn, Leroy, Vernon and Ronald and his two sisters, Joyce Ricard and Cheryl Roques. He was proceeded in death by his brothers, Melvin and Ralph Sr. Alvin Jr. is the grandfather of Angelique Boykin, Ranada Rizzo, Paul Boykin, Kevin Doucette Jr., Michael Doucette, Kristopher Doucette, Erin Doucette and the late Donielle Doucette. He also leaves behind six great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him and continue to love him dearly. His guidance, love, wisdom, comradery and commitment to his family will be genuinely missed by all. We look forward to the day that God unites us again. The family would like to thank the dedicated and loving doctors, nurses and staff of Oschner Baptist Hospital. Relatives, friends and family, also priest and parishoners of Corpus Christi Catholic Church are all invited to attend the mass of Christian Burial on Thursday July 17, 2014 at 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue.
