Mary Elizabeth Robinson Stansell Brinson

Mary Elizabeth Robinson Stansell Brinson, 72, a native of New Orleans, born September 24, 1941, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at her daughter's home in Freeburg, IL. Mrs. Brinson attended the Louise S. McGehee School, and earned a bachelor's degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She was maid in the Court of Rex, the Prophets of Persia, and made her debut in 1962. Mrs. Brinson also provided her services and legal expertise as a volunteer for CASA. Since her relocation to Illinois post Katrina, she was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, and Calvary Assembly of God in Belleville, IL. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Moreland Robinson and Mary Hall Tupper Robinson. Surviving are her husband, John Stephen Brinson; her daughter, Ashley Stansell, R.N.; her son, TSgt. David T. Stansell (USAF); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Katherine Neal and Henry Christopher Meyer; her brother, Tupper Robinson; and two nieces, Paige Jones and Sara Robinson. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Metairie Ccmetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
