I do not know to whom I should address this, but I worked with Dr.Al for years through the Right to Life. I live in Lafayette and have held several offices with the state and Acadiana RTL. I was so sorry to here about his death. He was so wonderful and at the same time humble. I am having some Masses said in his behalf at St. Pius Catholic Church in Lafayette. I could send a card, but I do not know whom to send it to. My sincere condolences to his family. Mrs. Suzanne S. Tierney

So sorry to hear of the passing of this dear man. I remember getting to know him at Karen and Maurice's wedding in San Diego. May God rest his soul and bless his family as they find a way to go on without their loved one.

Al was such an exceptional and brilliant individual in so many ways, and yet his genuine humility and respect and love for others was always evident. We had some very meaningful discussions regarding the unique value of human life and of God's great and merciful love towards us.As scripture reminds us: "... here on earth have we no continuig place, but we seek that ( greater, eternal life) which is to come."Al has certainly found it.Our prayers are with Al's family, and our thanks to them for sharing this exceptional Christian man with us.Personally, for me, he was a great friend who made a profound and lasting impact on me and my staff.

What a wonderful, sweet intelligent man, who has been a big part of our family for 28 years. Known as "Owl" by all the nieces and nephews,he was bigger than life. Always had a camera in his hand. We have countless photos he took of family events and mailed to all of us. He really loved my sister, Judy. As intelligent as he was, our family always kept him humble with armadillo jokes, humor and good fun. We have been to horse races, family celebrations, alligator watching activities, mushroom hunts, Lakehouse holidays, Cajun crawfish boils. We have celebrated lives together that were lost too soon. We have shared my sisters memories with her best friends for life... Her hand therapy friends. We have gone through his kitchen to find canned cobra, frozen rabbit, canned buffalo. We have successfully survived his mushroom soup from his hunt for mushrooms in my parents neighbors front yards. I still loved him after he and his wife gave me a real piglet. And, he did so much for others... A physician who has saved lives worldwide through his research and intelligence. He spoke many languages ... I think about five, fluently. He learned to love everything Judy... Including her horses, rock hunting, etc. He gave our family his wonderful Aleks who herself is bigger than life and gave him and Judy their grandchild Ripley. He was devotedly Catholic and I am sure he is in Heaven with my sister. He will live forever in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in what is recorded in the Bible at Jeremiah 29:11 and 12.
