Jessie Lee Huggins

Jessie Lee Huggins departed this life May 31, 2017 at 1:33am. He was born November 5, 1944 in Zachary, Louisiana to the union of Thomas Sr. and Iceola Huggins. He was the 7th of 8 children born to this union. After completing his educational requirements, Jessie pursued his passion by pitching professionally for many minor and major league baseball franchises. He proudly served his country in The United States Army. On February 24, 1969 he married Wilma Golden. To this union two children were born; Nidga Huggins & Kenya Huggins. Jessie Huggins is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Sr. and Iceola Huggins, and two brothers Thomas "Pump" Huggins Jr., Leon Huggins, one sister Betty Huggins Fisher. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Wilma Golden Huggins, his two children Nidga Huggins Steger (Sabaran) and Kenya Huggins Sr. (Kawana). Three grandchildren Kenya Huggins Jr., Kaleb Huggins and Kai Huggins. His loving sisters Gladys Huggins Barber, Gloria Dean Huggins, Essie B. Huggins, One brother Felton Huggins Sr. Two unconditionally devoted brothers-in-law James L. Golden and David L. Golden, M.D. M.Ph. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
