I had the fortune of working for Mr. Tony as his salad girl over thirty years ago. Although I worked there just over the summer before college, I could never forget him. What a kind and gentle soul he was. I'm not even sure he knew my first name because he always called me dahlin! Heaven gained an angel and a fabulous chef....my sincere condolences.

Our family expresses their sincere condolences for Mr. Tony's family and friends. Our father, Joe Williams, knew Tony from the days of the Black Orchid and Il Restorante. He bartended at the Black Orchid and later kept Mr. Tony's books for the restaurant. He and my mother considered Mr. Tony one of their best friends and we'll always have fond memories of Mr. Tony and our visits to his restaurants, where we were always welcomed as family.

In reading all the kind, expressions of sympathy for Mr. Tony and his Family, one would have to agree, that he indeed, treated everyone "whose lives he touched, with the same amount of Love and respect that he had for his own Family"!
We are all so blessed to have known this gentlemen throughout the years, sit and share some great stories, good times and of course, always a delicious meal!!!
Mr. Tony, was truly, a unique, kind hearted person, who was like a Father to so many employees and customers, alike. Just an inspiration to all! Another original New Awlins' character & legend, "whose memory will continue to live on in the heart and soul of each one of us, who had the honor and privilege of knowing this gracious human being"!
God Bless Mr. Tony, the entire Angello Family and a sincere "THANK YOU" to his daughter Angel, loyal employees Dale & Frankie, for sharing him with ALL who knew and Loved him, so very much!!!

I have known Mr. Tony for 35 years. I met him through my late husband V.J. & Mr. Dorignac. We went to the restaurant often & of course for everyone's birthday, etc. V.J. & I were married there & he truly made it an event to remember. Through all the years, every time we were there, he always made time to come & sit with us. He even shared recipes with me. I am so thankful for all the great memories I have. My deepest condolences to his family & Dale. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. Heaven's gain is our loss.

Just as everyone said, What a wonderful, sweet, gentle man ! We always laugh when we remember Tony and Mary on a flight to the Rizzuto wedding in Dallas. Mary would constantly ask him if he had packed the coffee pot then ask if it was in his bag or suitcase. Then he would reply in a very soft voice, Yes I have it ! And just smile ! Whenever we saw him , we would ask, Tony, ha got the coffee pot? God be with him !
