Albert L. "Jack" Darda, Sr. passed away on February 1, 2014 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Idamay Williams Darda for 65 years. A lifelong resident of Lafitte and a retired commercial fisherman and trapper. Loving father of Albert L. Darda, Jr. (Barbara), Jill Darda, Rae Dell D. Carter (Perry), Gay Nell Darda (Bryant), Jo Ann Darda (Jacob). Proud grandfather of Anson Holley III, Alicia Darda, Kenneth Belala, Jr., Justin Holley and Ashley Darda. Loving great-grandfather of Kinsley Holley. Step grandfather of Crystal Folse and Gia Songy. He was the son of the late Emile and Marie Guillie Darda Sr. Brother of Harris Darda and Lily D. Martin, and the late Innerce Darda, Harry Darda, Emelda Caufield, and Emile Darda, Jr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a World War II veteran who served in APTO. Also, a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 344 and LBCP Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to thank all of you for your prayers and support. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from Westside Leitz-Eagan, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Wednesday Afternoon, February 5, 2014 at 1:00. Visitation will begin at 10:00 in the morning. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Mausoleum, Crown Point.
