Claude H. Ansardi, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the age of 89 with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Anita Cosse Ansardi. Loving father of Claude H. (Chuck) Ansardi Jr. (Agnes) and Yvonne A. Faulker (Billy "Chip"). Son of the late Angelina Dureau Ansardi and Sebastian Ansardi Sr. Brother of the late Sebastian Ansardi Jr. (Olivia) and Albert J. Ansardi (Edith). Brother-in-law of Jane Falgout. Father-in-law of the late Clyde N. Rogers. Grandfather of Angelle and Chase Ansardi, April Banks (Victor), Brad and Chad Rogers, Keith and Eric Faulkner. Great-grandfather of Alyssa, Andrea and Mariah Niette, Michaela and Michael Banks and Sidney Charbonnet. Mr. Ansardi was a veteran of WWII serving as a Supply Sergeant in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on January 25, 1946 at Camp Fannin, Texas. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0401. He was retired from the Plaquemines Parish Government where he worked as Superintendent of the Pointe-ala-Hache Water Works. He was born on November 1, 1924 in Davant, Louisiana and has been a resident of Belle Chasse, Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina. His family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Hearts of Hospice for their loving compassionate care of "Mr. Claude." Relatives and friends of the family, Employees of the Plaquemines Parish Government, Plaquemines Parish School Board and Plaquemines Parish Assessor's Office are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, la. 70124 on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Mr. Ansardi to be made to the Inc. (www.kidneyla.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project, Inc. (WoundedWarriorProject.org).
