Edward Henry Barber, Jr. was born October 3, 1927 and passed away on January 6, 2014 at the age of 86. He was the cherished husband of the late Mary Sue Barber for 63 years. Loving mother of Edna-Rose Barber, Bill Barber and wife, Brenda, Alice Barber Heck and husband, Charles, Wayne Thomas Barber, Teresa Barber Ducote and husband, Morris and Mary Barber Larsen and husband, Gregory. Son of the late Edna Doussan Barber and Edward Henry Barber, Sr. Brother of Lucille Barber Ernst and the late Rodney and Henry Barber. Proud grandfather of Brian Barber, Ashley Barber Roubique and husband, Chaize, Nicolle Autumn Guice, Amanda Kay Heck, Brad Barber, Lori Barber Moore and husband, Jeremy, Zachary Ducote, Travis Ducote, Jackson Ducote and Samantha Mary Larsen. Great grandfather of Daniel Roubique and Cohen Thomas Moore. Edward was a native of Jacksonville, Fl and a resident of Slidell, LA. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and served during World War II. Edward was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2732. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 325 Westchester PL, Slidell, LA on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
