Floyd L. Trascher, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the age of 90. Son of the late Frank and Emily McNeil Trascher. Beloved husband for 62 years to Ruth B. Trascher. Loving father of Floyd L. Trascher, Jr. (Toni), John F. Trascher, Sr. (Debi), and Gerrard ""Jerry"" Trascher (Annette). Brother of the late Frank W. Trascher, Jr. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Floyd served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II, and survived for 44 months as a P.O.W. in various Japanese prison camps. After World War II he enlisted in the Naval Reserve. Floyd was retired from the local 60 Union, and was a Master Mason. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM.
