Fred Joseph Barocco, Sr., on July 31, 2014, at his residence in Harahan, La. Beloved husband of Ida Marrero Barocco for 67 years. Devoted father of Fred J. Barocco, Jr. (Arlene), Robert A. Barocco, Gary S. Barocco (Marsha), Claudia Theard (Kyle) and Barry D. Barocco. Son of the late Joseph A. Barocco, Sr. and Clothilde Lacoste Barocco. Loving grandfather of Roslyn, David, Kristen, Nicole, Laura, Ashley Lauren, Brandi, Hunter, Cheree, Amber, Donald, Milton and 14 great grandchildren. Brother of the late Alex F. Barocco, Sr. and Joseph Barocco. Age 92 years, born and raised in Jefferson and was a resident of Harahan for 64 years. Fred loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing, outdoors, his tomato garden and was especially known for his levee bike riding. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, member of St. Rita's Dad's Club and DD Club. He worked for Long Electrical Supply Company for 32 years as a salesman, was an Alderman for the City of Harahan for 28½ years, parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church, member of VFW Post 3267, American Legion Post 267 and St. Rita Council KC #3854. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N. Causeway on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 12:00 noon with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
