George L. Pratt passed away on October 9, 2013. He was born in New Orleans, LA on March 3, 1931 to the Late John Leroy Pratt Sr. and Rhoda Wild Pratt and was a resident of New Orleans before retiring to Covington in 1995.

The beloved husband of the late Sandra R. Pratt for 59 years, he is survived by three sons: George L. Jr. (Jean), John Jay Sr. (Mary) and David Paul; he is also survived by four Grandchildren: Amy, Katherine, John and Courtney; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Sonia Sicuro and Stephanie Gorman.
George met Sandy, the love of his life, while stationed in Enid, OK serving the United States Air Force. After 4 years and being honorably discharged, George and Sandy settled in New Orleans. He re-joined his father and brother at Crescent City Motors where he had begun working after school at the age of 11. Working on Studebakers during the week, he and his brother Jack were passionate about racing them on the weekends. He was later employed by Stephens Imports and the Benson Motor Company working on the Mercedes Benz alongside his brother until their retirement. For George, the greatest joys in life were family and his dog Matilda.
Visiting hours at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433 will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM.
A funeral procession will be led by E.J. Fielding Funeral Home to the Church at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd. St. Benedict, LA 70457 for the 2:00 PM funeral mass.
Interment at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery will immediately follow mass.
