Hubert "Silverman" Abraham Voisin passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his family on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the age of 88. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Helen Morriss Voisin. Loving father of Christine V. Robertson, Paulette V. Hebert (Glenn), Thomas D. Beaver (Kim) and Suzette M. Voisin (Mark Vizzini). Son of the late Jean and Alfrieda Bourg Voisin. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his brother Earl J. Voisin Sr. (Valerie), along with his 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Hubert is a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps, 4th Marine Division, who proudly served his country during World War II, where he participated in action at Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, Tihian in the Marianas Islands and received a Purple Heart for injuries received at Iwo Jima. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to many, who loved his country and treasured his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 16th from 10:30AM – 1:30PM, followed by a Catholic Service in Hubert's memory beginning at 1:30PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
