On Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:30pm at Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana Minister Johnny Jones, III departed this life. He was born to the union of Rev. Johnny and Winniefred Armour Jones on August 2, 1965. He has two sisters ad one brother. He was educated in the Orleans Parish School System, attending Florence Chester and Stuart Bradley Elementary, Gregory Junior and Kennedy Senior High Schools. He enrolled at Dillard University and transferred to Southern University in New Orleans where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education, He taught at several schools Fannie C. Williams and Lawless Senior High where he also coached the girls' basketball team. Johnny enrolled at University of New Orleans and received a Master of Arts degree in guidance and Counseling. He returned to the school system and served as a counselor at Capdau, Walter Cohen, and Habans Elementary Schools. He retired in 2011, due to illness. Johnny was married to Helene Benn Jones and has a step-son, D'Vaughn Delpit. Other survivors include his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Jones, two sisters-Adriene Gill and Valerie Francis, a brother Christopher Jones and his wife Loraine, nieces Jennifer Gill, Imani Francis and Nia Jones, nephew Joseph Gill and great nephew Joseph Gill, IV. Aunts and uncles--Olga Jackson, Elaine Wolo, Frieda Armour, James (Betty) Armour , Selena and Elnora Armour Booker T. (Alvera) Jones, Carl (Cathryn)Amedee, Rev. John Scott, Jr., William and George Armour, Ronald (Ernestine)Amedee and Lynell (Ronnell) Wheeler: his church family and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
