Staff Sergeant Joseph Emmanuel Anderson passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the age of 31. He was a loving daddy to Joseph Anderson Jr. (age 12), Jamal Anderson (age 11), and Morgan Anderson (age 7). Son of David and Kathleen Anderson. Brother of Veronica Mowery (Vance) and David Anderson Jr. He was active duty in the U.S. Army having served for 12 years. His last assignment was at Walter Reed Hospital. He earned the Global War on Terror as a result of his three deployments in Iraq. He earned his Airborne Wings in 2005. He was proud to follow his two grandfathers who both served in the Army in WWII. He was an avid deer hunter and Saints Fan. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or Fisher House (http://www.fisherhouse.org). Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
