Judee Bourgeois Morovich of New Orleans, age 78, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013. Survived by her daughters, Lauren Morovich (Paige Miller) and Nancy Morovich Denault (Leo), and her brother, Charles A. Bourgeois, Jr. (Helen). Preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. Bourgeois, Sr. and Gertrude Walsdorf Bourgeois. Judee graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School, Louisiana State University and Tulane University. She was a dedicated educator for most of her life: she taught elementary students early in her career and was a teacher on public television in the 1960s. Later, she was a guidance counselor at various schools in Orleans Parish, and was principal at Edward Hynes Elementary. After retiring in 1990, she was education director at the Louisiana Children's Museum. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for Women Educators, the New Orleans Principals Association and the St. Clement of Rome bell choir. She also actively participated in the People Program. Judee volunteered at numerous local charities throughout her life, and crocheted countless afghans, shawls and hats for those less fortunate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 11:00 am on Friday, October 4, 2013.
