Lydia Marie Knightshade Frazier was born August 7, 1957 to Samuel Knightshade Jr., and Deloris Gross Knightshade, they both preceded her in death. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Irving, TX, Lydia graduated from L.W. Higgins High School in 1975 and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Environmental Health from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. She was the loving mother of Sherry Frazier and Johnathan Evans and a devoted grandmother of Madyson Frazier. While living in New Orleans Lydia was a member of Incarnate Word where she served as a lector and Mater Dolorosa Church. Most recently, she was a Project Coordinator for Dr. Pepper-Snapple Group. On August 1, 2014 Lydia departed this life to be with the Lord and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She joins her sister, Linda Hobbs and grandmother Camille Gross in Glory. Lydia leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Sherry Frazier, son Johnathan Evans, granddaughter, Madyson Frazier; siblings, Leona Marshall (Rogers), Samuel Knightshade (Helen), Lynette Jones (Gerald), and Leslie Knightshade; brother-in-law, Lionel Hobbs; devoted friend, Rita Long of Dallas, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lydia's life on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 1228 S. Carrollton Ave., NOLA for 12:00 noon. Interment: Private. Visitation begins at 10:30 am.

What can I say about my friend Lydia? There is so much that I can say, but simply put, she was a “woman of noble character.” A Proverbs 31 woman that always gave more of herself than one expected. She never asked much, but she gave a lot. I will miss our time together. She was truly an angel from above.
