Miriam "Mimi" Alice Laussade Rousselle passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 17, 2014. She was 92 years old. Beloved wife of the late Wilbur B. Rousselle. Mother of Alice Rousselle Corkern (Mike) of Covington, Annette Rousselle Champagne (David) of Thibodaux, Andrea Rousselle Ford (Perry) of Sealy, TX, and the late Wilbur "Bill" Rousselle, Jr. Grandmother of Melissa (Brett) Hymel, Kelli (Scott) Toups, Justin Champagne, Elise Ford and Will Ford. Great-grandmother of Abbi Champagne, Bryce Hymel and Caleb Hymel. Sister of twin, Marian L. Gibson Vocke of Metairie, Louis P. Laussade, Jr. of Arkansas, Lysle G. Laussade of Bayou Gauche, Jeanne L. Dauterive Davis of Metairie and the late Clara L.Gremillion. Daughter of the late Cmdr. Louis P. and Melvina Danese Laussade. She was a native of New Orleans, longtime resident of Port Sulphur and recent resident of Metairie Manor. Mimi graduated Our Lady of Holy Cross College and became a teacher. She was a proud member of many organizations, including St. Ann's Altar Society; St. Ann's Rosary Group; VFW Auxiliary; Marine Corps League Auxiliary, Paul E. Boyd Unit; Fleet Reserve Auxiliary, Unit 162; Tuesday Quilters; and Les Belle Dames. She was awarded the Order of St. Louis IX Medallion for her service to the Catholic Church.Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from ST. EDWARD THE CONFESSOR, 4921 West Metairie Avenue, on Thursday morning, August 21, 2014 at 11:00. Visitation will be held at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 9:00, and resuming on Thursday at church from 9:00 until service time.
