Norris Brister Obituary

Norris Brister entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the age of 51. He was born in New Orleans, LA to the union of the late Leola and Monroe Brister. He was the 12th of 13 children. He was baptized at an early age at First Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop James Feltus Jr. He was educated in Orleans Parish School System G.W. Carver Class of 1982. He was united in marriage to Troy F. Livas to this union was born three children Eprsy (Jermal) Thomas, Brandi N. Livas and Norris D. Livas. He is also the father of Damien and Devaugh Dyson, Kenyaier, Kentrell and Nathan (Domonique) Brock and the grandfather of 17 grandchildren. Norris was employed with Dupuy Storage for over 20 years and was currently employed by Cornet Restaurant. Norris was a huge Saints fan and enjoyed playing horse shoes. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and siblings. He leaves to cherish his fond memories his loving wife Troy F. Brister, eight children, 17 grandchildren, 4 sisters Azie Jones of Los Angeles, Fayetta Brister, Claudette (Harold) Green, Shenethia (Brian) Johnson, Willie Ray Lewis, Artis (Stephanie) Lewis, Belton (Ronelda) Brister. Billy Ray Lewis of San Antonio, TX. Five sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, one uncle James Brumfield Sr. of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews and countless dear friends. Relatives and friends of the family also Pastors and members of Holy Faith Temple and Franklin Avenue Baptist Churches, and First Church United; employees of Cornet Restaurant, Dupuy Storage, Crescent Bank, Orleans Criminal District Court, Barrier Construction, Triangle Deli, Vista Shores Assisted Living, and New Orleans Fair Grounds are invited to attend the funeral service at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Holy Faith Temple Baptist Church, 1325 Governor Nicholls St. Pastor Elbert Williams of Franklin Ave. B.C. officiating.
