Robert Lee Cadwell, born on November 11, 1929 in Beaver Dam, WI, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the age of 84. He was a long-time resident of Chalmette, LA until Hurricane Katrina. Most recently he was a resident of Metairie, LA. He was a member of the Tulane University Boosters Club for more than 50 years. In 1982, he retired from Kaiser Aluminum Chalmette Works where he served as a Supervisor of the Power Division and an International Vice President of the Aluminum Workers Union. Prior to that he was a U.S. War Shipping Administration/Merchant Marine. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Thorpe Cadwell II and Charlotte Wilma Tobalske, and his brothers, James and William Cadwell. Beloved husband of 54 years to Bette Wilson Cadwell. Devoted father to Joseph H. Cadwell (deceased), Tami M. Constantine, and Cynthia P. Cadwell. Loving grandfather of Jason C. Freibert, Stephanie L. Cadwell, Alexander M. Gia, John S. Brown, Bridget M. Gia, Tiffany Cadwell, Joseph H. Cadwell Jr., Eric M. Gia, Lauren A. Boswell, and Joseph Wingfield. Great grandfather of 12. He was also survived by his sister Patsy Cadwell Sybel and brother Richard Cadwell. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 1:45pm on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home.
