Shirley Decker McAdams passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Lee Delmar McAdams, Jr. for 58 years. Survivors include her five children, Darby Mainieri (Bob), Dianne Smith (Roy), Lee D. McAdams III (Vickie), Debbie Davis (Bret) and Wayne McAdams (Belinda); one step-son, Loren Boulanger (Janet); one sister, June Gauthreaux; and one brother, Clarence Decker. Grandmother of: Chris and Craig George; Shawn and Lee Smith; Kim Cossar, Kevin and Kirk McAdams; Kristen Keahey, Michael, Bradley and Spencer Davis; Megan, Ian and Sean McAdams; and Jon Boulanger. Great grandmother of: Adrianna and Bristol George; Kelsey Bailey; Cody, Cade, Christian and Emily Bauer; Judgment, Moses, Elijah, Witness, Justice and Silas Smith; Addison and Brendan Cossar; and Jonah and Brielle Boulanger. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Roy Smith III; one brother, William Ed Decker, Jr.; 4 sisters, Forest Cook, Inez Santangelo, Audry DiFulco and Noel Ory; father, William Ed Decker, Sr. and her mother, Maude Robotham Decker. Special friends: Father Bob Massett, Chung & Min Huey Lee and family and Ron & Lynn Albro and family. She was a graduate of McMain High School and retired from D. H. Holmes. As a young mother, she enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader and was awarded the St. Anne Medal, the highest national recognition for adults who serve Catholic youth through Girl Scouts. She also loved to help with activities at St. Mary Magdalen and the St. Elizabeth Seton fair. Mrs. McAdams was a member of the St. Jude Society of St. Mary Magdalen, American Legion Auxiliary 267 and Ladies Auxiliary VFW 6640. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA 70003 on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass.
