Walter Harvey White, a native of New Orleans residing in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, died on July 29, 2014 as the result of a swimming pool accident. He was forty-one and leaves a wife and two small children. Walter White attended St. Andrews Episcopal School and Trinity school in his elementary and middle school years and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Jesuit High School in 1991. He received a full scholarship to The University of Florida in Gainesville where he graduated with a B.A. in 1996. After several years working in the financial services industry he returned to U.F. and received an M.B.A. in an accelerated program. He held several positions in the insurance industry until starting his own business in the health insurance field where his positive attitude and dedication to client service were the keys to his success. Mr. White was married in 2009 to Michelle DaCosta of Ft. Lauderdale. Together they had two children, a daughter, Ruby Sofia, and a son, Patrick Sidney. Walter was the son of Albert Sidney White III and Lettie Eighmey White, formerly of New Orleans and currently residing in Port St. Lucie, FL. A wide circle of devoted friends that mourns his untimely passing is testament to Walt's cheerful and good natured personality. His kind and loving nature and infectious optimism inspired many friends and business associates to love him like a brother. Always hard-working and dedicated to his wife and children, he will be sorely missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him in life. Walt was also a genuinely charitable soul and was active with Boys And Girls Clubs. His memory would be well served with support given in his name to that or a similar institution. Several spontaneous memorial events have taken place in the South Florida area, but arrangements for a memorial closer to New Orleans are incomplete and will be announced at a later time.
