Dolores D. Holloway, beloved mother and grandmother, entered God's presence April 29, 2014. She was 88 years old. No cleverly turned phrase can ever describe how much richer this world was because of her; our memories of this gentle lady are eloquent enough. A longtime resident of Opelousas for 55 years, Mrs. Holloway was an active member of the Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church and of her social sorority, Beta Sigma Phi. She also worked for Opelousas General Hospital as a medical transcriptionist for almost 19 years and was dearly loved by her friends there. She was best known, however, as a kind, loving wife and mother whose penchant for the whimsical was contagious and lasting. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren A. Holloway, Jr., and daughter, Sharon H. Geisler; and is survived by daughter, Sandra H. Diamond; son, Warren A. "Skip" Holloway III, and wife, Lisa; and son Patrick M. Holloway, Sr. and wife, Nancy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the Holloway family requests that memorial gifts be made to Mrs. Holloway's last loving home, Grace Residential Home Care, 25914 Oak Ridge Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380, In Loving Memory of Dolores D. Holloway. Visitation will be at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, LA, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, May 5, with funeral services following immediately in the Chapel at 1 p.m. To view and sign the family guestbook please visit, www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
