Lorraine Langheteé Colwart, age 83, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2014, at Ochsner Baptist Hospital after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents William L. and Eva Brunson Langheteé, her brother, Leroy Adams (Wyolene), and her loving husband of 57 years Donald J. Colwart. She is survived by her sisters Leah Langheteé Alexander (Keith), and Helen Langheteé Logan. Loving Mother of Jeanne Chavanel Augello, Buddy Chavanel (Sharon) and Lori Colwart (Karla Billiot). Grandmother of Eva Augello Sanford (Ryan), Donny Chavanel (Kim), Donya Chavanel Guidry (Galen), and Grace Byrne. Great Grandmother of Chase Sanford, Danny, Hunter and Hailey Chavanel, and Lily and Logan Guidry. She will be greatly missed by her godchildren Keith Alexander and Doris Alexander Adams, and sadly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Lorraine was a volunteer at Our Lady of Holy Rosary grammar school for 30 years and a longtime bowling league member at Sugar Bowl Lanes, having served many years as the league Secretary. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed tending to her cactus garden. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred. Private services will be held.
