Miguel J. "Mike" Barquero III

Miguel "Mike" J. Barquero, III, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015. He was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Ponchatoula. He worked in the construction industry most of his life and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Barck Barquero for 38 years. Father of Lawanda B. Hunter (Ron), Miguel Barquero, IV (Tracey), George Barquero, Alvin Barquero (Aimee), David Barquero, John Barquero, Rose Barquero, Crystal B. Richard (Shaun) and stepfather of Robert Blanchard (Natalie). Son of the late Inez D. Catoire and Miguel J. Barquero, Jr. Brother of Diane B. Bowers, George Barquero and the late Marilyn "T.T." B. Raspino, Margaret B. Lamkin and Leo F. Dragon; half-brother of Jackie C. Hahn and stepbrother of Audrey C. Bourgeois, Walter "Jay" Catoire, Jr. and Ralph "James" Catoire. Mike also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the Robert Volunteer Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 1:30 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am.
