A retired Tugboat Captain born on June 22, 1942, to the late Melvin and Bessie Smith Burns Sr. in Hazel Hurst MS. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Brenda McGee Gray Burns, 3 stepdaughters, Patricia M. Guidry, Lenora (Percy) Kelson, and Shelena Gray, 5 daughters, Stephanie (Joe) Bridges, Angela Scott, Antoinette Devazin, Sonya (Dennis) Revels and Alana Burns, 3 sons, Kevin (Constance) Burns Sr., Rodney Burns, and Stephen Burns, 5 brothers, Leon (Mertharee) Burns, Ernest (Shirley) Burns, James Earl (Edna) Burns, Harvey Lee and Robert Burns, 2 sisters, Bobby McGee and Mildred Adams, 28 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. All are invited to the funeral services on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at New Zion Baptist Church, 2319 Third Street, NOLA, 70112, at 10 AM, visitation will begin at 8 AM, Pastor Crispus S.
