Joyce Lee Nezat Gonzales passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the age of 86 in Monticello, FL. She was the cherished wife of 63 years to the late Mitcheal H. "Mike" Gonzales Sr. She was preceded in death by her dear son Dennis Ray Gonzales; her parents Paul Valex Nezat and Laura Mae Carriere Nezat; her siblings Pruit "Buck" J. Nezat, Milburn "Slim" J. Nezat, Joseph "Chew" V. Nezat, Valex Nezat Jr., Valex "Pooney" Joseph Nezat, Mary "Tootsie" Verna, Mary "Bleu" & "Soonie" Hazel and James "Gene" Eugene Nezat. Joyce is survived and fondly remembered by her beloved children Dianna Johnson (George), Brenda F. Jones (Gary), Mitcheal "Mike" H. Gonzales Jr. (Anna) and Patsy Callagan (Calvert); her siblings Johnnie "Brother" Lee Nezat, Laura "Tutt" Mae Mouton and Betty Lou Pitre; her loving grandchildren Shelley Johnson, Ryan and Jamie Gonzales, Rae Ann Loupe; her great grandchildren Alyssa Johnson, Chelsea and Tyler Ray Loupe, Madison Rikki Johnson and Ricky Joseph Steward Jr.; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joyce was born in Port Barré, LA, was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, currently residing in Monticello, FL. Joyce loved being active and athletic, especially with her love for bowling and softball. She also enjoyed many arts and crafts activities in between her trips to the casino. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a dear friend to many, who enjoyed a long life and treasured her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, March 17th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00PM.
