Linnie "Lynn" Chandler Lambert passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. She was born in Downsville, Louisiana on April 29,1927, to the late W. F. Chandler of Beaumont, Texas and Ada Mae Norris Verret of Downsville, Louisiana. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Louis Lambert, Sr. of New Orleans, Louisiana and her loving pet Precious Trina. Lynn is survived by her daughter Candis Lynn Lambert of Metairie; granddaughter Tiffany Lambert Fontana (Benjamin) of Baton Rouge; great-grandson Benjamin Walker Fontana; step-son Alfred Louis Lambert, Jr. (Carol);step- grandchildren Terry Hyver Cambise (Michael); Don Hyver; Ched Lambert (Jennifer); Step-great grandchildren Victoria Michelle Cambise; Drake Lambert; Dior Alexandra Lambert. Lynn was predeceased in death by her step-daughter Jean Mary Lambert Hyver. After graduating from Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe, La, Lynn moved to New Orleans. She worked at South Central Bell Telephone Company until the birth of her daughter Candis. Lynn married Alfred on April 12, 1952. They briefly resided in New Orleans before moving to Harahan where they resided for 36 years. They then moved to Metairie, where she resided for 22 years. Lynn and Al traveled the world experiencing all that life had to offer. She was a great lover of animals, especially her beloved Trina-the light of her life!! Lynn was a lifetime member of Children's Hospital Guild. She loved life and was greatly admired by all who knew her. Eternal gratitude to Dora Brown, Patrice Charles and Jamile Mayorga for their dedication and loving care they provided Lynn during her lengthy illness. In lieu of flowers donations to Children's Hospital of New Orleans or Drs. Deb and John Mauterer, 74211 River Road, Covington, La. 70438 - Veterinary Relief Fund - a local non-profit, caring for animals since Hurricane Katrina would be appreciated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation Services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124 on Thursday April 17, 2014 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service.
