Ernest J. Vedros, 77, a native of Mathews, LA and resident of Lockport, LA, passed away April 18, 2014. Visitation will take place on Monday April 21, 2014 at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland from 9:00 am till service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with burial following in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Ernest is survived by his wife of 56 years Theoma Levert Vedros, daughters Priscilla Vedros Waguespack and husband Carl and Michelle Vedros Foret and husband Leon III, grandchildren Leon Foret IV, Ashley Waguespack Bergeron and husband Craig, and Aaron Waguespack, step-mother Bella Vedros, sisters Brenda Vedros and Linda Vedros Landry and husband Wallace, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Vedros was preceded in death by his parents Mack and Ida M. Vedros, brother Lawrence Vedros, and sister Rita Dufrene. He was an usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Hilary Catholic Church, a Lockport Volunteer Fireman for 50 years, member of the Fire District Board, the American Legion Post 83 in Lockport, and a Knight of Columbus 3rd Degree at St. Hilary, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus Kermit Trahan Council, and retired from Texaco after 25years. The family request donations in Mr. Ernest's name to St. Hilary Catholic Church. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland entrusted with arrangements.
