Lois Victoria "Vicki" Brueck Spiers, 69, of Meadville, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at her home in Meadville, MS. Visitation will be on Friday, June 20, 2014, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM at the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside service will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, MS. Bro. Matt Alexander, Bro. Johnny Bowlin and Bro. Ernie Whittington will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers are Kirk Lejeune, Terry Oglesby, Ernest Herndon, Brad Mullins, Michael Tynes and Percy Peeler. Honorary pallbearers are Deandre Davis and Christopher Curtis. Mrs. Spiers was born July 19, 1944, in Baton Rouge, LA, to W.M. and Edith Herndon Brueck. She was a member of Meadville Baptist Church. She was a graduate of LSU with a Masters in Education and an avid LSU fan. She was a retired schoolteacher of 38 years. She loved the Great Smoky Mountains especially Cade's Cove. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.M. and Edith Herndon Brueck; son, Jimmy Edward Spiers Jr.; granddaughter, Victoria Ranae Spiers. Survivors are her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Spiers; son, Joel Spiers and wife Estella of Liberty, MS; sisters, Ellen Halphen and Patti Johnson; grandchild, Meagan; great-grandsons, Christopher Curtis and Michael Dykes Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
