Dolores (Dee) Legendre Meliet, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 4, 2014. Daughter of the late Moise Legendre and Cecile Breaux. Beloved wife of 70 years of Albert Meliet. Sister of the late Dorothy and Robert Legendre. Survived by her brother Ralph J. Legendre of Baton Rouge. Also survived by her beloved children, son Albert Meliet, Jr., and daughters Ann Gebbia and Susan Quates (Robert). Grandchildren: Gina Hontiveros (Sal), Chad Quates (Sara), Christy Crovetto (Matthew), and Jeffrey Quates (Ashley) and seven Great Grandchildren: Cade and Amelia Hontiveros, Lucy and Oscar Quates, Rowan and Ryann Crovetto and Harper Quates. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of St. Bernard Parish for 50 years and currently a resident of Metairie since Katrina. Mrs. Meliet was a longtime member of the Ladies Altar Society of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette, Fair Worker, Nursing Home Visitor, a former member of AARP Pakenham Chapter 3926 and a recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medal. Her devotion to her family was boundless. Her love was as a little engine that never quit. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, La. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 11 AM until 1:00 PM followed by a Mass in the Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
