David Edward "Tip' Hendrix, a forty-year employee of Petty Ray Geophysical Oil Exploration Company, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the age of 91. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virgil Octavia "Doc" Barlow Hendrix; his children, Theresa (Annie) Hendrix, Donna Boudreaux (Bryan), Dale Bear, David Hendrix (Mary) and Michael Hendrix (Debbie); grandchildren, Michelle Boudreaux, Angela Hendrix, Jessica Bear and Joseph Hendrix; great grandchildren, Jordan Punch, and Le Sean Hendrix and a brother, Johnny Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Blanche Collins Hendrix and William Harley Hendrix; two sisters, Opal Hendrix and June Hendrix Arnold; four brothers, Roy, Paul, Cecil, and Harry (Dick) Hendrix. He was originally from Benkelman, NE, later resided in New Orleans, LA, until 1973 and in 1986 settled in Natalbany, LA, for 24 years and from 2010 to 2014 resided in Hammond, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA, on Friday, July 25, 2014 between the hours of 9:00 A.M, and 10:30 A.M. and to attend the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M.
