Beauregard Jean Parent, Jr. passed away on July 20, 2014. He was born on February 26, 1941. Beau attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School and was a graduate of Jesuit High School and Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. His professional career spanned decades, including employment with Bank of New Orleans, Avondale Shipyards, Deloitte Haskins & Sells, W&A Engineers, and his private CPA practice. His academic debut occurred at the University of New Orleans where he discovered his passion for teaching. For thirty-seven years he was a dynamic presence in the classrooms of the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, and touched thousands of students' lives. His dedication to education went beyond the classroom. Beau devoted countless hours advising students in the joint BSM/Master of Accounting program, a program he founded and served as director since 2000. He was preceded in death by his father, Beauregard Jean Parent, Sr., his mother Vivian Matthews Parent, his sister Erie Lanier, his brothers-in-law Clendon Butera and Henry Duvic, and his niece Lydia Butera. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Elizabeth Schiro Parent, his sister Shirley Kelso, his brother Clifford Parent and wife Betty, his sisters-in-law Mary Jane Butera and Kathleen Duvic, his brother-in-law Eugene Lanier, his beloved daughters Lisa Parent Hickey and husband David, Christine Parent Smith and husband Reed, Colette Parent Raphel and husband David, and his adoring grandchildren: Ryan Hickey, Jordan Hickey, Claire Raphel, Erich Smith, and Conrad Smith. He is also survived by his dear friend, Chester Schmitt and his daughter Nancy, along with a host of dearly loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with family at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6367 St Charles Ave, on Monday, July 28, 2014, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Parking is permitted on Loyola's campus, in the horseshoe or the parking garage, in any non-reserved space.
