Billy "Bill" Orin Lee was born on 1/2/29 and passed away surrounded by his adoring family on 4/11/14 after a courageous battle with pulmonary disease. Bill was born to parents Sidney Orin Lee and Amanda Rash Lee of Sevierville, TN where he lived his childhood years along with is late sister, Alice Lee Dixon. His life was filled with many exemplary accomplishments. After graduating with a degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee, he attended Officer Candidate School with the US Coast Guard Academy and dutifully served in the Korean War era as a Lieutenant Junior Grade. He is regarded a hero for his service in the US Military. He returned to the University of Tennessee where he received a degree in pharmacology. He married Laura Gloria Lapiana from New Orleans and they resided in the New Orleans area where he had a long career as a pharmacist in which he helped many. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Laura Gloria Lapiana Lee, son Sidney Orin Lee II, daughter Joy Lee Naylon, and four loving grandchildren Patrick Lee Naylon, Amanda Elizabeth Lee, Elena Marie Naylon, and Sidney Orin Lee III. Many thanks are given to his personal caregivers, Passages Hospice and Bayou Home Care for making his last days as comfortable as possible. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124 on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 12:00 Noon.
