Joseph Duzac Jr.

Joseph Duzac, Jr., age 87, passed on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Norma Duzac for 63 years. Son of the late Joseph and Lillian Duzac, Sr, Joe was born in New Orleans on August 26, 1927. He graduated from Holy Cross High School, Loyola University, served in the U.S. Army, having worked in the Pentagon during World War II. Joe retired from Falstaff Brewing Company, Graphic Papers, and was co-owner of Graphic Press Parts. He was an usher and parishioner of St. James Major Catholic Church. An avid football fan, Joe was a member of the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club and a retired football official for LHSAA. A devoted and loving father, Joe is survived by his children: Carol (Bill) Price, Joseph M. (Deborah) Duzac, Sr., and Linda (Walter) Eckert II; his grandchildren: Eric (Krista) Price, Joseph M. (Jenny) Duzac, Jr., Leane (Luke) Verdin, Walter (Laura) Eckert III, and Jay (Tracy) Eckert; his great grandchildren: Moinet, Ashtyn, Haley, and Audrey. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11 AM followed by interment in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association.
