Thelma Harris Obituary

Thelma Duson Harris, born in New Orleans, LA, November 28, 1928 and resident of Pahrump, NV, departed this earthly life peacefully at home on Monday, December 29, 2014, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Nathaniel Harris. The loving and devoted mother of Beulah H. Martin (Richenel), Linda H. Williams (Floyd), Pauline H. Pennington (Al), Bruce Harris (Kim) and the late Frank Harris and the late Barbara H. Jones. Daughter of the late Frank Duson, Jr. and the late Ethel Wells Duson. Sister of the late Birdie Mae Kidd and half-sister of the late Irma D. Forest. Also, Thelma is survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the homegoing celebration on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 12:00 NOON at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave., New Orleans, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Officiate and grandson, Pastor Darrin L. Harris, Founder/Sr. Pastor, Freedom Fellowship Ministries United Church of Christ. Dear Harris Family,
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I had the pleasure of working with Ms Thelma for many years at HRI Management., The Woodward Apartments. Ms Thelma was a great person and she will be truly missed. I loved her to pieces!!! Unfortunately, I didn't know about her passing otherwise, I would have been there. Take care and may God hold you in the palm of his hands to comfort you.
