Alvin John Wegmann

Alvin John Wegmann passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He was 95 years old. Loving husband of the late Leonora Rose Carbajal Wegmann. Beloved father of Michael J. Wegmann (Linda Stempel) and James M. Wegmann (Linda Romano). Grandfather of Jennifer Wegmann (Paul Kirkpatrick) and Jessica Wegmann Wilson (Clif). Great grandfather of Jack Wilson, Emma Wilson, and Adele Kirkpatrick. Son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Bonhage Wegmann. Brother of the late Henrietta Ecuyer, Helen Fath, Mary Burgdorf, Claire L'Hoste, Bernadine Proctor, Robert Wegmann, Peter Wegmann, Jr., and Clarence Wegmann. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge Alvin's niece, Kathleen Carbajal, for her devotion to him. Alvin was born and raised in New Orleans. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and served during World War II. After being discharged, he began his lifelong career with the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board. After his retirement he moved to Lacombe. Relatives, friends, and members of the Our Lady of Wisdom community are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM.
