Lota Walker-Nelson departed this life on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Passages Hospice at the age of 70. Lota was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, La. She was a cook for many years at Roosevelts and Poppa Seafood. Daughter of the late Percy and Leona Booth. Mother of Sonji Nelson Sparks and Tina Nelson Wilson (the late Ronald). Wife of Joseph Nelson, Jr. Sister of Myra (George) Johnson of Oceanside, CA., Lloyd (Doris), Prosper (Tammy), Alonzo (Mildred) all of New Orleans, LA., Johnnie (Francine) Booth of San Diego, CA and the late Margaret Ann Black. Niece of Margaret Morgan. She is also survived by 4 grandkids, 6 great-grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends. Family and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:00am at Majestic Mortuary 1833 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard New Orleans, LA. Visitation 9AM-10AM. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Majestic Mortuary (504) 523-5872.
