Cheryl Ann Karn

FREMONT: Cheryl Ann Karn, 66, of Fremont died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Flower Hospital in Toledo, Oh, surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born on April 14, 1946, graduated from Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati Oh, and served our country in the Coast Guard from 1964-1965.

She lived a free spirited and well-traveled life. She was a passionate advocate for children's big dreams, a believer in hard work and a lover of adventure. She was the kind of friend and playmate that everyone should have at least one of in a lifetime. She was a collector of good people, good stuff and loyal pets. She believed in brutal honesty, a soft word spoken at just the right time, and kindness to strangers. She was deeply spiritual and loved to read the Bible. She devoted her heart and life to the Lord and her family. In her journey she made numerous friends and influenced many lives.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Roth of Mason, Oh; sister Robin (Roger) Spenser also from Mason; children Joseph Hook of Cincinnati, Gerald E. (Larisa) Hook Jr. of Washington State, Kevin M. (Jody Verb) Karn of Helena, Oh, Tristam E. (Dustin) Andecover of Fremont, Oh; grandchildren, Madison Hook, Amanda Karn, Sydney Karn, Bryce Hinds, Dustin Andecover, Ayla Karn, Chelcie Stanley, Kayden Andecover and nieces Emily and Celeste Spencer.

She is preceded in death by her foster parents John E and Mary A. Hilbert; and siblings Sherri (Roger) Culbert, John C. Hilbert and Gregg Hilbert.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
