Paul Jerry Phillips, Jr.

FREMONT: Paul Jerry Phillips, Jr., 81, also known as "PawPaw", died at his home on Thursday, December 19, 2013.

"Jerry" was born in Bluefield, WV on September 19, 1932 to the now deceased Paul Jerry and Mary M. (Turner) Phillips, Sr.

He graduated from Ross High School in 1950, and served in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1996, he retired from the Whirlpool Corp.

On November 24, 1956, he married Shirley A. Burdett and she preceded him in death on September 4, 2003.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori Phillips, Fremont; a son, Tim Phillips, Fremont; four grandchildren, Brandon McPherson (Dedra), Kristy McPherson (Erik McGrady), Shannon McPherson (Drew Lockshin), Adam Mulligan; six great grandchildren: Brayden, Austin, Kayden, Jaycee, Graci and Londyn; his sister, Sandy (James) Bennison, survives in Fremont.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by a great grandson, Landen.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 1:00 PM until the service at 2:00 PM at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio with Pastor David Gowen officiating. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
