Ronald Dean Miller
CLYDE: Ronald Dean Miller passed on Tuesday surrounded by loved ones.
A 1959 graduate of Clyde High, Ron married his high school sweetheart Judith Ann Fought in 1961. Ron began baking at his family's bakery Balduff's in Clyde, then becoming a Master Baker through his training at the American Institute of Baking. Ron and Judy owned Bowsher's Bakery in Shelby for over 35 years, where they are long remembered for his incredible baked goods and her elaborate cake decorating. Ron's love for baking and fishing was surpassed only by his devotion to his family and his faith, having served as a leader at First Lutheran in Shelby and St Paul's Lutheran in Clyde.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Audra Miller Gibson and Lester John Miller; son, Mathew James Miller; and sisters, Alice Faye Paull (spouse, the late John Paull) and Betty Mae Rogers (spouse, the late Ralph Rogers).
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Miller; as well as his daughters, Trisha Prunty and her husband, Scott of Clyde, Sherri Copley and her husband, Greg of New Haven, and Jennifer Miller and her husband, Aaron of Columbus. His 11 grandchildren include Jessica, Nathan, Sarah, Caitin, Isaac, Caleb, Noah, Amanda, Jacob, Luke, and Lydia.
The family wishes to thank all who comforted him during his final days, especially the staff of Elmwood East in Green Springs, Stein Hospice, Reverend Hal Shaull, Pastor Gosnell and the congregants at St Paul Lutheran, and his many friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio from 9:30 AM until the service at 10:30 AM with Mr. Miller's friend, Mr. Hal Shaull officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
